Sunset Jubilee

Sunset Jubilee 7 × 10 Watercolor by William Palm

“Sunset Jubilee” captures the moment when the sky erupts into color at the end of the day. I was inspired by the warm oranges, violets, and rose tones glowing above a quiet stream, contrasted with the dark silhouettes of evergreens. I wanted this piece to feel like a small celebration in nature, a moment when the landscape lifts into color before settling into evening.

Painted in watercolor, the piece focuses on atmosphere, reflection, and the peaceful rhythm of a fading sunset. Soft washes and layered color help convey the luminous sky, while the darker foreground shapes anchor the composition and enhance the sense of calm.

This painting reflects my ongoing interest in expressive skies and the emotional resonance found in quiet, place‑based landscapes.
