Autumn’s Escape

10 x 14 Watercolor Painting

When I painted Autumn’s Escape, I was inspired to create a wooded lakeside scene with a dreamlike sense of getaway. A quiet house nestles among golden and orange trees, with pumpkins nearby and the brilliant colors of autumn reflected in the still water.  I wanted to  create a setting that feels removed from the pace of everyday life—a place where time seems to slow down and the beauty of the season takes center stage. The warm autumn foliage, peaceful water, and secluded house come together to suggest a welcoming retreat.

For me, Autumn’s Escape is an invitation to step away from the everyday and imagine a peaceful place surrounded by the warmth, color, and quiet beauty of fall.
