Cranford Center Clock

Painted on location during a plein air paint out, Cranford Center Clock captures the familiar charm and quiet rhythm of downtown Cranford. The iconic clock stands as a local landmark, framed by lush summer foliage and softened architectural lines, anchoring the scene in both place and time.

Working quickly outdoors, I focused on the interplay of natural light, shifting color, and atmosphere—allowing loose, expressive brushwork to convey the immediacy of the moment. Greens, blues, and warm accents mingle with softened edges, giving the painting a sense of movement and lived experience that can only come from painting directly from life.

This piece was awarded Second Place at the plein air event, recognizing both its technical execution and its emotional connection to the community. It is a one-of-a-kind original, ideal for collectors who value local scenes, plein air tradition, and paintings that preserve the character of a place through light and memory.
